Problems with our video
After finally finishing our video, we were putting it onto you tube to be able to put it onto our blog and burn it on our disc. However we have had problems with this as it wouldn't upload onto you tube and when it did the timing appeared to have changed which made our video out of time and then made the process more time consuming to finish as we had to try and re-do this again. Another problem we have had has been trying to burn it onto the disc as the disc we originally bought said it wasn't blank when we tried to burn our video on to it. We overcame these issues by re-doing them and trying different things until we succeeded with this.

Problems with Editing
On following the problems with the software, we tried to import all the clips into iMovie however half of them wouldnt import and it was getting closer and closer to the deadline.
I then downloaded 'Any Video Convertor' to attempt the changing of the video to an mpeg to work on iMovie and have access to them for the video, unfortunately this was also time consuming to do as it wouldnt download the first three times, in the end fortunately it did. On the other hand they wouldnt still work after converting the video clips to five different aspects and trying to import them all each time into iMovie. I tried everything to import these clips in and convert them but they wouldnt work. Once converting them once, they did work in multimedia player, but still wouldnt work in iMovie. I didnt understand why they were different as we had filmed on the same camera and copied them onto the same computer as the other clips.
As a result in the end we had to use the clips we had access to as time was running out. One main thing we would change is the type of song we chose, through the making we realise a up beat song would not be easier but easier to film as fellow students have done and included 'messing' around fun clips rather than serious ones that we found hard to peices together with the slow song.
As the song was rather clip flicking through clip to clip made it difficult and therefore not only because we didnt have all the clips bu also because on the tempo of the song we didnt have a large variety of clips in the final music video.

Problems with Software
The main problem we had was the factor that the last few of our clips wouldnt convert and work on iMovie editing software.
We firstly had to copy and paste all our clips from the school computer onto two different memory sticks as they wouldnt fit on one, this took time seeing as the computer froze on us during this process quite a few times. Anyway after converting all the clips from both of our accounts we then chose to use my mac and use the sofware iMovie to put the music video together. However we copied the the clips over on my documents, we noticed that all of our new clips we had been shooting were in a different convertor and were not coming up the same as the draft clips.

Problems with Filming
Unfortunately we came across a few problems in the process of wanting to film, firstly not having full access to our own camera and tripod made things difficult as we had to rent out the school camera, with alot of other students and there was not always enough for everyone, as a result a few time when we had planned and the spare time to shoot we were then unable to.
Another problem e came across was the timing in which we had, as me and hanna work during the week and weekend, then our model works all weekend, it made it very difficult not only for where our location were (main one in town) but the day light as the weather began to get gloomier and darker with rain, also not relating to the weather we had originally planned on filming in. However evenings were the only real time that we could film.
In relation to this we managed to do quite abit of filming during a few lessons, which ended up being rushed.

Magazine Advert
Overall i am happy with the magazine advert as my main focus was the factor of the image of the artist not being relevant to the male gaze on such a high level as we see too often in the media, however it may help sell magazines, but when not on the front cover its not there to draw people in. Having a decent image on the page also makes it appropriate for all audiences.
I chose to have the text in the middle of the page over the image as after reviewing other magzine adverts it doesnt make it stand out as much as it would on a white background but centralises the text more to an overall image with the photo, and as it isnt covering too much of the artist, especially not her face i didnt see a major problem.
I chose to keep the background whoite as it gives a fresh, clear look which kind of reflects the style of the artist. Dark colours such as black always gives me the impression of a diva or some sort of gothic heavymetal artist, and brigh colours remind me of pop music with the artist behind it.
Although i am happy with the layout i wish to of had a better quality image of my artist, i would change the aspect of what she is wearing to look less 'prom' like and more like a pperformance costume. However on the other hand in my researcch i did review the smart casul look of clothing for in the video, this as a result relates to the style in the video.
Digipak
Over all i am happy with my final digipak, i chose to use the bright pink colour instead of the original reds as it became more consitant in the editing of the images. It also reflects the concept that i was trying to gain of the eye catching covers on the shelves. Hopefully this way more people will be drawn in and take 'a second look'. I did end up using the same image throughout the digipak as i loved this picture and wanted to reflect my digipak as an Andy Warhol styled painting, this is giving an artistic edge upon the cd rather than just a bunch ofdifferent photo shoot images that have been staged.
I had edited the lips on the model to be that same shade of pink as the text, i only did this on the fron cover. On the back of the album cover i changed the pink to a more pastel shading of pink and also as a result used the same colour for the track list too. Having different shades of pink was an idea to also relate to the Andy Warhol artistic styling and also showing that the images were meant to be different shadings and brightness. The front cover was the brightest due to the factor that it had to be the most eye catching on the shelf and is the first thing people then see and are attracted to. I wanted to keep the spine and the Cd back cover white to keep a clear contrasting look in comparison.
Behind the Cd i used the same colour as the front cover shading of pink for the peoples names to help stand out. Now the male gaze was a factor i didnt know weather i wanted to include or not, i chose not to due to the genre of the music and it didnt really fit appriately as that is more reflective of a pop singer and song, or for instance R&B which was shown on the Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Rihanna album covers that i reviewed.
In the end i chose to do a four sectioned digipak due to the fact i was using the same image, i didnt want it to seem too repetative although that was partly the idea hense the Andy Warhol theme.
Final Digipak
For my digipak i wanted to stick to our colour scheme of red, black and white however i didnt want it to look too boring so i put these brighter pictures in with an effect on them, i used the same effect for this pictures throughout so that it was clear they were joined, they didnt look random and it all fitted well together. I think the front cover looks good and to the point by just staying simple yet still being attractive and attaching the audiances eye with the photograph, i think the way the 'Skye' is looking at the camera makes it more appealing because she is looking straight into it, also the colour is eyecatching. I have used two quite different themes in these, however i think they work well because they are all simple and clear, i have also tried to keep the colour scheme throughout it using the same colour writing and also matching the red to the lipstick in the photographs.
Final Magazine Advert
Overall i am quite pleased with the way that my magazine advert turned put, i think the picture is much better and has improved since the draft and the colour scheme works well as is the same as our original idea. I think it looks quite proffesional and uses the rule of three quite well, i also think it has most of the infomation needed on it and makes the point of the advert obvious. I have edited the picture on here to make her look slightly lighter than in the original photograph, i did this to try and make the dark fonts stand out more when they are next to the photograph of the artist. I think the photograph is quite eye-catching and it will also help to get people attentions because 'Skye' is looking straight into the camera.

Andy Warhol Inspiration.
This first picture represents the idea with the factor of the same image being adapted through colour changes and the different features he choses to make stand out. I recon i will probably change the colour of the lips to be the feature that stands out, but use different shades of pink for the range of pictures in general.
This is just one example of Andy Warhol's work with Marilin Monroe.
This image is just an example of someone adapting the Andy Warhol styling with bottles, i like the dark contrasting background and may take it forward and practice on my own digipak.
As i previously mentioned i want to change the colour of the lip to a bright colour of red or pink, however i have not decided yet and will therefore experiment. This is an example of an image that the colouring has been changed through a red style, i am thinking blue and pink.
Download Logo
I have chose to write a post on my download logo as i added it onto my final magazine advert, it acts as a replacment for the iTunes logo.
Taking from this i took the idea of the 'i' before the word to symbolise a music downloading site as most people will be able to relate to it and its reasoning for being there and the use. Relating to the iTunes make is Apple, i took the apple theme of fruit in the relative names and then chose cherry, randomly for the name. However when i then thought it through our theming is red and black, the cherry is a red colour.
Now i didnt want the name iCherry as it seemed too original and not catchy enough, therefore i changed it to iChezz, giving a urban, young teen speak through the language. I took the cherry shape off of the photoshop shapes tool and then added colour for my basic logo with 'iChezz' next to it. A simple adapted logo with the original pattern peice being the itunes and apple sign as shown below.

I didnt choose to take a section out of the cherry as i thought that it looked way too much like the itunes symbol.
