Plan For Filming

We planned to film in town to get the footage for our draft video, we did this on a saturday and we met in town and took props such as the guitar, the video camera, the tripod, our storyboard and our schedule list so we knew exactly where we were filming and which shots we were doing, we did this so we could get it done as good and efficient as possible. We checked the weather for the filming and although it says that it isnt going to rain we dont think it is going to be a bright day therefore we will just have to consider this when we next film or re-film any of the fottage so that it all matches. We have also had to dicuss the outfits and make-up with our artist to make her aware of what we want her to look like and how we want her to be portayed, this is an important part of the video as this is part of what will make the target audiance want to watch her video and listen to it and this is how we make the target audinace attracted to her by making her a role model and a style icon, therefore we are hoping to show this through such elements as the clothing.

Risk Assessment

We are writing a risk assessment, the purpose of this is to outline all of the risks possible before we start filming so that hopefully we know ways of overcoming these and then when we are actually filming or doing any other practical work these risks won’t be harmful to anybody and things will run smoothly without anybody getting hurt.
Equipment.
A risk with the equipment is simply if people drop it or it falls over and could easily hit somebody or land on somebody’s foot, although this does not seem like a serious injury it could still hurt somebody and we want to avoid any accidents we can at any stage at the filming. If something like this was to happen it would also cause trouble if for example the camera broke as it fell on the floor because this would then be time consuming to get another one to continue filming.
The Set.
Being on the set could be a risk depending on where we are filming at the time, the reason for this being because there could be things on the floor that it is likely for somebody to trip up, which also means we need to set up our equipment in a sensible place at each location so that everybody around us in aware that it is there and nobody will trip over it or get hurt. Other things on the set that we need to be aware of id things like were we put our bags or equipment we are not using at the time. We need to make sure that they are out of the way and everybody is aware that they are there. Other things on the set that could cause an accident would be simply things like people walking into each other especially if the set or location is quite a small space.
Props.
When filming the props around us are always going to be a risk, this is simply because they could fall over and either hit someone or be in the way and somebody tripping up, this is things such as the guitar or chair. Another issue with the props, which could also relate to the equipment, is carrying it around and moving it from one place to the other, a way of overcoming this would just be to make sure somebody is with you to help carrying or moving and just taking your time and being careful because this could cause injury to somebody if they moved something too heavy or big.

Story Board

Progress of our Storyboard

We are pleased with how our story board is going, we have had to put a lot of thought into it and listen to our chosen song to make sure we get the timings correct. We found it helpful to do and look through all of the research and planning work we have done previously.
 I think we have worked well together in doing the storyboard and it has given us a really good idea of what our music video is going to look like and how we want it to look. One of the problems we thought about was if we had too many locations and if our music video would turn out looking too messy and over crowded. However i think we have overcome this by repeating some of the locations which then again we had the issue of it being repetitive but we overcame this by showing the same location at the beginning of the storyboard to close to the end so hopefully people will be able to see the connection between this. We cut down our song as well, one of the reasons we have done this is because we feel like we were putting a lot of locations and the same shots into our video and although we want it to look good and to the best of our ability we don't want it to look too messy therefore we thought we should cut it down so we don't keep repeating ourselves or adding more locations.

First Story Board Mock Ups

Representation of the Music Video

Here we are identifying features that are most common in our music video to enable a refresh and detailed idea as a whole. The explanation will be clearer and easier to understand.
Who?
Our music video consists of one artist, Skye fior the main 'character' and as she is the aqrtist as the song it will be in relation and more practicle, she will also be acting her tour performances out to enable a great visual that will reflect the aspects of her career. Navnette Virk is our actor playing the artist, hopefully representing Tracy Chapman well. The video will include random people acting out as a for instance people walking in the streets for a scene set up. However it is clear the Skye is the main character and will be using visuals to reflecct song lyrics as it is significant to the groups ideas for the music video as the song is so indepth with meaning through lyrics.
What?
The majority fo the msuic video will be like a story, more represented as a on going sequence of scenes that will reflect words in the lyrics, such as car... there will be many shots involving a car, although the lyrics are using car as a metaphor. On the other hand there will be flash back tp the artist singing on stand, without an audience as the song is about her being alone and needing to get away, it will be used mostly at the chorus. Her actions will  be reflected in the different types of scene, especially the lighting used. For example dull lighting in a sad or glum part of the song.
Where?
The location of the shots will be described in more depth within the post, final shot locations. The location will be more in town where the city centre will come intogreat use when filming busy streets and sareas, such as specifically the the clock tower and fountain shots, which i particually based on these areas. Another location which will be a great resource will be our school stage, with steps attached to complete the scenes including shots where suddenly the the artist moves posistion of infact, is performing. We want to keep our video as simple as possible so that the location, props or other features are ot only easily avaliable to us so we can focus more on the editing and great mining. We took this into great consideration when producing our storyboard. Close up shots  of the artist will complete shots by almost attaching them together, also to show emotion through the signing in the lyrics. The school is going to become very helpfu to us for our shots as there are plenty of room, however the harder shots will include that of the moving car with the artist. OIn the other hand the movement of the fast cars will be shot of a motorway, off of a bridge for safety, this way we can also gain a great real life shot. This will also be shot in the day so it will be daylight.
Why?
We have chosen these locations and a simple story so that the video looks realistic but not too complex for the group to have access to or shoot in a reasonable period of time. Our model has her own unique image which is safisticated and therefore will look good and represent the song. Although there is no specific story to the msuic video we hope to gain a distant story of her overall lifeand a feel to her emotions. We do have a varitied amount of locations but we limitted the amount of different shots, so once one scene is complete we then can briefly use it later in the music video, this way focusing on conventions such as lighting and camera techniques will also improve the video greatly however mor ethrough the technical side.
How?
Firstly we will gather a list of different camera shots we will use in a sequal for each shot we have produced on the story board simply to make sure that the shots flow smoothly together and dont look like its suddenly been cut to another shot, panning, and zooming will be a main feature. Other music video conventions will be mind mapped for possiblities that we could include. A shhot planner will eb a vital to the production side when we begin as it will be able to give us deadlines to keep on track! Which is very important. By producing a risk assessment it will allow us to identify and overcome any possible problems also to prevent us from slowing down on the filming. Practice shots and categorise each shot for each scene whicih we could shoot at the same time in a day or so so we will not have to keep going back the same location.  We are going to experiment with styling and costumes asa well although we have done an indepth research already, so we basically know what we want to include. A major part we need to sort out are not only the props but the resources and equipment, which we will make a list of such as a camera, and tripod.

Representation Of The Artist

Who?
In our music video we are just having one artist, this is 'Skye' who will be played by Navneet Virk. We chose Nav to be our artist because she will be easy to get hold of as she also goes to the school and will be available out of school also. I think we has the right look for our music video and her style will fit well. We might also have a couple of extra people in our video to make the settings look more realistic and if the artist is with some of them in the picture, we already know the people that these could be if they are needed.
What?
Our music video will hopefully tell the story of the lyrics and as you can see by the storyboard we have to tried to make a clear link between the visuals and the lyrics. This however we thought could be hard to do obviously because the song includes a car and Navneet does not drive however we will come around this by using somebody else's car and also editing. We are also hoping to use instruments, we were hoping to use a piano and a guitar. it is clear through out there is a guitar in the song so we have done close ups of this.
Where?
We have chosen quite a few locations for our video, we got a lot of our inspiration from Adele's video 'Rolling in the deep' and are hoping to do something similar to this at the beginning. We also have the clock tower, a fountain, inside a house is another and also in a car. We think we have a lot of locations for our video however we have thought about it carefully and think we have done our storyboard to the best of our ability so we hope the locations will look good and set the scenery for the video. We need to think carefully about our artists clothing in each of the shots to make sure it works well e.g the colour.
Why?
We feel our storyboard is well constructed and relates to the song well, we chose this song because we liked it and the style of music, we have done alot of research into other videos of the same and different types of music and i think we have chosen the right locations. I think they will work well together and if this isn't the case we will overcome this by using less locations. To get a better idea of this we need to go to the places with our artist before we start filming to check everything we want is there. We chose our artist because i think she has the right look and style for our video, we will also be easy to use as she is a close friend of mine.
How?
We will create the video by getting a few more ideas and looking back on the research we have done to check what we are doing. We will then make a shooting schedule after visiting our locations so we all know when we are going to do everything and know what we will need and what outfits will need to be worn by Navneet. We will also take practice shots of the artist at the correct location to check that everything works well together and then when everything else is completed we will be able to start filming. For the filming process equipment that will be needed is a camera, a tripod and props such as a car, a chair and a guitar.

Location Shots.

For this section I have taken a few photographs off of the internet of the locations in Leicester that we are including in the video. The ,ajority are basic and simple however the more difficult one are down to the access we have to them and their avalibily for example, when is the main hall free at school? we we find a routa and add our shot timing in to make sure that we are able to complete all the shots that will be involved in that specific location. Others on the other hand can be very basic and simple although they are in streets and town so it is dependent on how bust the centre is and the actions and behaviour of the people there.

The clock tower

For our video we have decided to include a sped up and slowed down shots of the clock tower in leicester, not only due to its recognisability but also as it demonstrates time going forwards and the song lyrics include the fact that she wants to get away fast expressing this in the line,  'Fast Car' and backwards and is relevant as it is the title of the song. We will film the clock tower with people walking around it, sometimes including the artist herself, then speeding up it up and slowing down depending on the part of the song and its rhythem. We are also going to experiment with the clock by trying the rewind the shot of the people walking to represent that nothings going right and her life is almost going backwards rather than forwards, this is in relation to the lyrics.

The fountain

Here are two different fountains that we are considering to use however we prefer the last shot of the fountain shown as it is brighly colours rather than dull, however the first picture is of the same fountain in a colder darker day which will be more relevant for the sader parts of the song, as a result we have two options which will both relate to the song lyrics and the mood of the msuci video. Mainly the shots we are including the fountain in are when the artist is along, and will move postions from different shots in a sequal, we have also considered using the idea above with the clock tower also with the foutain. We love the very simplistic and eyecatching natural beauty so we thought it may look quite effective in relation to the song and therefore also reflect the same style for our audience as we described them as thoughtful individuals who look for the beauty in everything. The artist will be located on the endge of the fountain gradually moving in shot to shot always being the centre of the shots and that will be clearly advertised and shown.

Front of car/Car door

This photograph represents and demonstrates the location that will be used for the story aspect of the video. A variety of shots will be used include a car, they will vary from inside and outside of the object. The shots will mainly consist of close ups, the positioning of the camera is going to be difficult due to the space inside.

Motorway

The motorway shot is going to include the camera being on top of a bridge for safety, for referance to where the shots are in the song take a preview of our storyboard. We decided mainly on the motorway shots to be shown when the particular lyrics, 'didnt wanna drive too far, across the boarder and into the city' which also relates to the shots placed in the city centre.

Props

Costume

For the music video we want Skye to be dress in smart casual to connect with the theme and style of the song, we are going to under go experiments with images where Skye isd dresses in different outfits and deside on the best ones for each specific scene. Here are some images outlining the kinda look we will be aiming for.

Annotating the lyrics

<a href="http://www.scribd.com/doc/67203113/You-Got-a-Fast-Car-Lyrics" style="-x-system-font: none; display: block; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 14px Helvetica, Arial, Sans-serif; margin: 12px auto 6px; text-decoration: underline;" title="View You Got a Fast Car Lyrics on Scribd">You Got a Fast Car Lyrics</a> <iframe class="scribd_iframe_embed" data-aspect-ratio="0.772727272727273" data-auto-height="true" frameborder="0" height="600" id="doc_91855" scrolling="no" src="http://www.scribd.com/embeds/67203113/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=list&amp;access_key=key-2oeaq840b6synia41vk9" width="100%"></iframe>

As you can see here i have annotated the lyrics with ideas and issues i think we might have, we will figure out how to overcome these if they do become issues. I think the ideas we have so far are good and will work well together, we have looked at a lot of inspiration from other artists and music videos. I hope our music video will be a slightly more up to date version of the song and will make it look more modern.
&nbsp;We may have to cut down our song as it is over five minutes so we might not have some of these lyrics in our music video but we will do our best to make our music video look the best with the part of the song that we do choose.

Skye On Tour Poster Inspiration

I have chose to look at different artists tour posters as it will be great for our artist to begin to promote and advertise her throughout the public to get more fans and a varity of audience. Here are just come i will take my inspiration from.

I particually looked at Rihanna's tour poster as i really like the pose on the front, it looks personal, as if the artist if lookng at the audience.

I thought it would be very important to look at the original Tracy Chapman tour poster to gether inspiration as it will give a feild of the genre in the poster that i could take and incoriate in the 'Skye' version poster of the song.

I particually love the use of bright colour in this Madonna poster. I will use the bright rainbow colours in the title of the Skye's name for the tourposter as i believe it willgrab peoples attention very well.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As you can see from the images above the camera shots of the original artist who sang, 'Fast Car' is Tracy Chapman, they are all focusing on the movement of her mouth and the playing of the guitar. This is a main feature of shots that we are using in our music video due to the reoccur use of it. Overall i think that the use of the shot is down to the fact that her song is so meaningful that it comes across in how she sings it, this is going to be difficult for our model/artist to forful, however we have included simple locations shots to allow us to focus on very convention such as this. </div>

Richard Griffiths

‘No machinery ever of itself and by itself made a star.That takes place in the depths of the collective unconscious’
This is a quote by Richard Griffiths about star image.

It’s about conspicuous consumption – the way the wealthy show off the fact that they are wealthy, i like this quote because i think it clearly tells us how we should dress our artist in relation to how we want her to come across to our audience. I think we would think about this carefully because the lyrics of the song have a meaning to them and it seems quite serious so we need the image of artist to show this.
Ideas that i have had about this so far is that we want 'Skye' to look quite casual but yet fun and fit the scene of the video. I think we need to have a different out, hair and look for each different location.

Stars are ambiguous – both ordinary and special – especially in history – their behaviours were modelled and lifestyles desired
I think this means that although we need our artist to fit in with the scene of our video and look realistic we also need to remember that she is a star and this is what we need to make her look like. We need to make sure she looks appealing to viewers and is a style icon, this will hopefully increase how much she appeals to people. What we need to aim to do is make her lifestyle desired as it says in this quote therefore we need to make the video look as good as we can.

Dyer’s wrote an&nbsp;article ‘In Defence of Disco’ in Gay Left in 1979, and was one of the first to take disco seriously as an expression of the new gay consciousness. The first gay cinema event at the National Film Theatre was organised by Dyer in 1977. The event was accompanied by the publication of Gays and Film, a collection of essays edited by him. Stars in 1979 was Dyer's first full-length book. In it he developed the idea that the viewers' perception of a film is heavily influenced by the perception of its stars, and that publicity materials and reviews determine the way that audiences experience the film. With this thesis in mind, Dyer analysed critics' writing, magazines, and advertising and the films themselves, to explore the significance of stardom. In 1993 the British Film Institute commissioned Dyer to write a book about the 1945 film Brief Encounter as part of its BFI Modern Classics series. He emphasised the gay sensibility of the film, analysing the source of this impression in a way that reached beyond the popular assumption that this flowed from the film's association with Noël Coward as its scriptwriter. In 1999 the British Film Institute&nbsp;commissioned Dyer to write a book about David Fincher's 1995 film Seven as part of its BFI Modern Classics series. Dyer adopted the conceit of breaking his analysis into seven S-titled sections: sin, story, structure, seriality, sound, sight, and salvation. He explored the film's use of the seven deadly sins, its own conscious structure and the nature of serial killing in earlier films. Despite this focus on sin and death, Dyer responded to the film on an entirely experiential level, making no comment on its relevance to the viewers morality.&nbsp;In 1995 he contributed his opinions to the television documentary The Celluloid Closet, a history of depictions of lesbians and gay men in American films, which was first screened in the UK on Channel 4 on the 5th of&nbsp;September in&nbsp;1996. Five years later when the documentary was released on DVD, unused material was edited together to form a one-hour show entitled Rescued From the Closet. Although Dyer's academic specialism is film, he has a wider interest in culture and in the way that people are categorised. His 2001 book The Culture of Queers was a general history of the culture of gay men. He had explored aspects of this — like the origins of the application of the word 'gay' to this culture — in earlier essays. In the book he looked at the more general issue of a sexual grouping having an identifiable culture and at the relatively small set of stereotypes associated with that culture as portrayed in its arts and media. Specifically, he uses "queer culture" to indicate the values of that grouping before "gay culture" took hold, and the book explores the ways in which these two cultures differ. In 2007, Dyer was the recipient of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies' lifetime achievement award.

<strong>His Theory:</strong>

Skye On Tour Poster

I have chose to look at different artists tour posters as it will be great for our artist to begin to promote and advertise her throughout the public to get more fans and a varity of audience. Here are just come i will take my inspiration from.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho4212DJGRTXdT3ZAtvL1Z2ZhI1NmuHEl3Kuq6avBoKZlSHB6tIXDBLbk2NwT0rpJucy_al2hgvSNbTGL6w7_xlb2xyX43VhKe-AB1GTL_VmJsQIdkqFRO4C2LW3nJxqwAY87mJeEsTTLs/s1600/imagesCABTFAHT.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho4212DJGRTXdT3ZAtvL1Z2ZhI1NmuHEl3Kuq6avBoKZlSHB6tIXDBLbk2NwT0rpJucy_al2hgvSNbTGL6w7_xlb2xyX43VhKe-AB1GTL_VmJsQIdkqFRO4C2LW3nJxqwAY87mJeEsTTLs/s1600/imagesCABTFAHT.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I particually looked at Rihanna's tour poster as i really like the pose on the front, it looks personal, as if the artist if lookng at the audience. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikadvUHrrS6PFCIADwoUhep7Z08L6tgQZBF2iwcBIsyUpyfn8tiDJ-4DLupb_NdVICQFKmDXg66tK6jRj3LJPovz-6PfER7-Z9c4LtmN1isBe4pa5vsCoc19B4VydRr5UwCfwsgPSKi1FQ/s1600/imagesCAQCPJ95.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikadvUHrrS6PFCIADwoUhep7Z08L6tgQZBF2iwcBIsyUpyfn8tiDJ-4DLupb_NdVICQFKmDXg66tK6jRj3LJPovz-6PfER7-Z9c4LtmN1isBe4pa5vsCoc19B4VydRr5UwCfwsgPSKi1FQ/s1600/imagesCAQCPJ95.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought it would be very important to look at the original Tracy Chapman tour poster to gether inspiration as it will give a feild of the genre in the poster that i could take and incoriate in the 'Skye' version poster of the song. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08yLSy6F_BOe57exiWkQ-8bfVHQlafQd3yOPXIqcv1j69RUvovBRYU4s6TTrtzLVh_1btpiokgDPU-hGeV43laqnpzf63IWrmjAiZVY-w4Z_3UEcjhPRlRHzlYGzGC8v7Vq2s7KXxmv7f/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj08yLSy6F_BOe57exiWkQ-8bfVHQlafQd3yOPXIqcv1j69RUvovBRYU4s6TTrtzLVh_1btpiokgDPU-hGeV43laqnpzf63IWrmjAiZVY-w4Z_3UEcjhPRlRHzlYGzGC8v7Vq2s7KXxmv7f/s320/images.jpg" width="207" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I particually love the use of bright colour in this Madonna poster. I will use the bright rainbow colours in the title of the Skye's name for the tourposter as i believe it willgrab peoples attention very well. </div>

Cutting Down the Song

When listening to the whole song it is up to five minutes long, we have to cut this down because it is too long for us to be able to make a music video for it the the space of time that we have so we are going to make it shorter and hopefully better than it would be if it was longer.

From this video of the song we are starting from 18 seconds and finishing at 3.27 we think, we may have to chnage this because of the storyboard and what works best but we will deal with that if we need to.

Camera Angles

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzTtBHDCalO4-Xk-e1hPPs5Wy311wYKHw0bQiTL3XWQ0k3t3Rv1BqVLfeckH86Fa9WTv0Y0rnsiPZWOnPrAWno-cTUqVLw522HFWg0xQjIdX-vjqGx6KCHaIq811gUToCwOkT9Z2DIKpSK/s1600/Camera+shots.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzTtBHDCalO4-Xk-e1hPPs5Wy311wYKHw0bQiTL3XWQ0k3t3Rv1BqVLfeckH86Fa9WTv0Y0rnsiPZWOnPrAWno-cTUqVLw522HFWg0xQjIdX-vjqGx6KCHaIq811gUToCwOkT9Z2DIKpSK/s320/Camera+shots.PNG" width="320" /></a></div>

As you can see here i have looked at some different camera angles and shots. I have looked at a variety of videos and made this selection of pictures. I have chosen these ones because i think we will use shots like this quite a lot and although they look quite similar i think the locations also make a difference to the shot. As you can see i have picked this one in the bottom right hand corner because it is inside a car which we have included in our storyboard so hopefully this will go into our music video if there is no problem with doing this. I have also chosen the one above of Ellie Goulding because we want to use a park location and as we can see a mid shot here but we get a good feel of the expression on her face and this is why i think the location helps add to the mood of the scene.
The one at the top of Beyonce's lips is on here because we are hoping to do this with our artist, we think this will look good and work well when she is singing certain lines of the song, we also want to get quite a few close ups of the artists face. The shot of the train ticket i have looked at because although we will not use that specifically i like the idea of doing close up of the surroundings of the artist and in the location, i think we are hoping to do this when it is instrumental music, the locations we are thinking of using for this is a fountain and the clock tower.
The top left hand photo is from Adele's video , Rolling in the Deep. We really liked the idea of our artist sitting on the chair therefore we are using this at the very beginning of our music video. We also might go into a close up after this like for example the picture of Adele underneath this. We are also going to use a chair outside hopefully if we think it looks good when we try out the locations.

Facebook Page

We have created a Facebook page for our fictional artist so it will help with our audience feedback and also we can get opinions from our peers and see if they like our ideas. Lots of artists are on facebook and it helps with marketing them.

Ideas For Story Board

Photoshoot Schedule - Change Slightly

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqslaPPx3ParCCTusLYPg7SfvD85QxhZSaQJCfDg3FYN3K38CwdmgExh80d-z4ObJ4_ktQHhEWweWyNKKwFb2sTudSqFWAxdK1N_FkAxmRI0A3ErUJ4AbclArqU1QObNTt7Hmk_gmn2Ixe/s1600/images-11.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqslaPPx3ParCCTusLYPg7SfvD85QxhZSaQJCfDg3FYN3K38CwdmgExh80d-z4ObJ4_ktQHhEWweWyNKKwFb2sTudSqFWAxdK1N_FkAxmRI0A3ErUJ4AbclArqU1QObNTt7Hmk_gmn2Ixe/s1600/images-11.jpeg" /></a>Where: White background and white floor, green screen if we can find one, but it may be hard to locate a green screen as they are very expensive so using a white background and floor would be easier. We may use some exterior shots to be done in a park or factory. We could also do another photoshoot or at least in some of the photos use instruments and also at the places where we film the video as it will make them link together well.

<div style="text-align: left;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Who: We need to use Skye for the images so we can take pictures of her, we also need to think about her style and clothing to get the image across of how we wantg her to be seen by the audiance. We will also need to We need to think about the clothing that she will be in and make sure it fits in with the clothing in the video so we may use the same clothing but more likely use more glamorous clothing which will make it more like an artists photoshoot. We will also make sure she is wearing natural makeup which will fit in with the genre well.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghITfggjoIpmgBjS_xzu-1Ka1050gss09g78FCocb3jLgOYKvrQ3VmGe0JFOzQQMsX6b_HYicU2iOolGvYtR6nlQfm42zGaTlHNFENE61Ok0PWS4zn_3XihmW9bI25cnLYMfSmTAwDzMU-/s1600/PMU1237.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="130" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghITfggjoIpmgBjS_xzu-1Ka1050gss09g78FCocb3jLgOYKvrQ3VmGe0JFOzQQMsX6b_HYicU2iOolGvYtR6nlQfm42zGaTlHNFENE61Ok0PWS4zn_3XihmW9bI25cnLYMfSmTAwDzMU-/s200/PMU1237.jpg" width="200" /></a>
What: We need to get a camera and then a USB cable and then we also need a computer/ laptop that we can put the photos onto and also photoshop so that we can edit the photos. We will also need any props that we are thinking of using, for example a guitar or a piano.

Below is some photography of the sort of imagery I like and the sort of things which could work well within our genre including the setting and props etc. I really like the use of photography on the road where you can see the cars in the background because I think it works really well for our song as it is about a car which means it will work well for the title. I also like the look of the photography on the stairs because I think that it makes it look natural and it makes the mise en scene look really good and the colours are quite dull which makes the artist stand out from the background. I think that the plain background works really well because it makes the photography look really professional so I think that a mix of a plain background and a background with exterior shots would work really well. I also definitely think that we should use the instruments in some of the photography as I think that it would work really well and would fit in with Andrew Goodwins theory well by linking the music to the visuals. I like the setting in a field as I think it brings the countryside into the photography and it makes it seem more natural which is how we want skye to be portayed. I also like photos where the artist is photographed 3 times and where they are put next to eachother as I think that this works really well.

Pitch Feed Back

"we really like your idea and love the song choice! your choice of colour scheme we think will work really well and will tie in with your genre perfectly :)maybe you should've included images of what you wanted your artist to look like and some possible locations shots! "

This was our first comment from a class mate, we found it helpful because now we are reassured that the colour scheme will be popular and a positive aspect of the music video. We are however going to include a post of our blog filled with photographic images of our artist Skye so we can also test out the image such as the outfits and fashion style. Overall we have studied possible locations however we still need to take shots of real life locations that we will use.
Our teacher added to the feedback and commented on his likability of the name as it is original and different. This has reassured us that the name works well with not only the genre but also the song. After answering questions we were able to think more about the depth of the finalising the video, such as location and mise-en-scene.

''We like the location ideas you have, as there is a good variety, but we think you could maybe use the slow movement idea just in important aspects of your video :)''

This was our 2nd comment and it made us think about the slow movement and thinking about whether to put faster movement in the video rather than keep on doing slow movement as it may make the video a little boring and therefore it may make the video more exciting and make it look better. It has also given us the idea to use slow movement just in the important parts of the video rather than for the whole video as it means that there will be more movement.

We were asked after showing our pitch if we knew where we were going to shoot our video, the answer was that we do have some ideas. We know that we want some inside and some outside. This comment helped us because we now know that we need to start thinking about this in more detail and post some ideas onto our blog so that it is clear for people to see. We also got asked if we knew who we were going to use for our music. We did but again we now know that we need to make this more obvious and maybe get her more involved in posts on our blog, including photos.

Instruments

When thinking of the insturments we want to use in our video, the ones that come to mind fist are the guitar and the piano. We are definatly hoping to use some instrurment because we feel that this will make it more proffesional and it will be very relevant to the video, a guitar is also included in the original music video. The main instrument we think will be the guitar as this is the most appropriate and will be the easiest to get hold of and to move around to different locations to make filming easier and make it more proffesional. if we do manage to use a piano we think this will look good and we are considering using the schools facilitys to be able to do this, also this means that it will just be in one location. With instruments we feel that the artist will look more professional and make her singing look more realistic, our actress is also learning how to play the guitar so it will look realistic.
Before using the instruments in our video we obviously need to make sure that it looks as good as we think it is going to and fits well with the style of the song, we will do this by meeting up with our artist 'Skye'. As we are able to get a guitar we will do this not through school so we have access to it at all times and it will be easy to get to different locations if we need to.

Mise- En- Scene

Location Room: Our first possible location for the music video and some scene will be a plain white or black room dependant on which is more avalible and easier to find. This will be for the opening scene of the video where our artist will be sitting alone with a guitar on a stool, this setting has be took from inspiration from the analysed Adele video. Dressing the set will include the plain white interior, maybe coloured cloth hanging from the walls, a stool situated in the middle of the room and possible furnitues to suggest a bedroom or dinning room. The props are significantly the furniture and guitar. Possible furniture we could include are chester draws and/or a mirror. Lighting throughout the scenes and music video will mainly be focused on the artist herself with shadows against the plain walls, to give an empty but thoughful effect.

Location Street:
As the lyrics of the song 'Fast Car' that we are using are in our music video in in relation to a car and traveling i considered focusing on a scene in a street, one in the car driving down a main town city street, and another the artist walking down a run down council estate street. For the first street location it will be difficault to include props as we will mainly just be choosing the likabilty and relevance of the natural look upon the street, all we can really include are people as props. The type of people will vary from both street scenes as we will take into consideration the wealth and social class, along with the stereotyppical looks of the people, however the scene in the car will include more placed props and only people on the street for a background image. The props in the car will include a guitar on the backseat. We will not really be able to adjust the lighting on the street as it is natural but we will aim to shoot on sunny days in midday for most the scene, however according to the lyric it may be for appropriate to set the scene in the night time or even rain, for example a raining dull day shott may relate to a sad moment or lyrics.

Location Concert:
I think that this scene will be the hardest out of the lot to shoot, as we will need alot of people in a dark huge room, with a stage. The possibilites of this location mainly could be the school main hall, however we still have the possible problem of gathering around a hundred people in the main room for a 'concert' scene. To make this a little easier we could change the scene to be accomidating to the resources and change the scene to the artist alone again in a room, however on the stage singing alone saddened and struggling with maybe writting the song. Lighting again will be just focusing on the artsit, a white light for brightness and a clear effect. The props will include a piano miscro phone and stand and a guitar with a chair. A backdrop could be included. Maybe even a scene relating to this with a shot of the designed tour poster i have completes on the floor in the rain showing that things arnt goiing good and that the artist is sad.

Location Park:
Now this scene doesnt really relate to the song itself, however the lyrics explain how he wants to get away with someone, we could interprit this as her boyfrien.Now i thought of the park scene as i have seen in other meaningful music videos where it starts with a swing swinging alone then goes onto the artist singing, i would love to use this and then go on to the artist running and hugging, then again running off into the distance or even getting in a car. This will link to then a car location scene as described above. Again like the street location lighting and props will be difficult to include and change therefore we will shoot dependant on the weather and relevance of the look of the scene.
