Inspirational Album Covers

Likes: The colour of the grey and black shades with the smallest bit of green and also how the artist looks, i like the close up. Improvements: For our album cover i think we should have the artist looking towards the camera, however we will have to experiment with this first.

 

Adele,Likes: I again like the shades of the colour used and how simple it looks and doesn't look messy or overcrowded. Improvements: This would be that you can't really see the persons face and although this is not a bad thing i don't think it will be something we are considering for our album cover. Alicia Keys, Likes: I like the background used on this album cover and how well the colours work together, i think it is important on an album cover like this that the clothing matches the rest of it and i think it works really well here. Improvements: Again as before i think it would be that the eyes of the artist are closed and this isn't something i was considering for Skye.

 Beyonce 1, Likes: I like the simple background of this as it makes the artist stand out and be the only thing on the cover apart from the title. Improvements: I am not too keen on the colour scheme here, i think although it looks simple it is quite dull and may need a bit more going on with the artist or maybe a close up. Beyonce 2,Likes:I like the colour of this and how the shot is a close up of the artist, i think it brings all the attention to her, i also like how she is looking at the camera. Improvements: One thing i would consider changing if this were my album cover would be to do the title pf the album in a different colour to make this stand out.

Tracy Chapman 1, Likes: I like the use of the guitar on the front as well, i think this shows the type of music and person this album is about. I also like the simplicity of it and the colours work well together. Improvements: I want the artist to be looking towards the camera as i think it makes a better connection. Tracy Chapman 2, Likes: I really like the simple colour scheme here and how there is a plain, simple border around the edge of the picture. Improvements: The title of the album i think needs to stand out more, maybe it could be in a different colour or look at a different font to make it stand out more.

Here i have looked at some of the album covers of the people we have been looking at and inspired by all the way through our research and planning section. I have chosen these album covers to look at because i like the look of them at a first glance and as you can see underneath each one i have said what i like and don't about each one. I think we need to think carefully about our album cover because we need to make sure we stick to the colour scheme of red, black and white while portraying our artist how we want her to be seen.
